Capture These Sketches is starting it's first ever Sketch Design Team! Are you up for the challenge?
We are a new blog designed to inspire your creativity using sketches! We Have just started up a brand new website too, so come on by and get to know us!! Want to be part of the Sketch team? Here's what we're looking for...

REQUIREMENTS
*Open to US and Canadian citizens only. (Due to shipping)
*We're looking for people who design sketches, either digitally or by hand! We like both!
*You will be required to design 2 projects per month (cards or LO's) based on the sketch of the week as well as use the sponsor product provided! You will be on a 2 week rotation... one week on, one week off... but you're more than welcome to participate on your weeks off!
*You will be required to design one sketch every 10 weeks. (plus optional opportunities)
*We're looking for fun, creative individuals who enjoy inspiring others!
*We are also looking for consistency, dependability and reliability. No previous Design Team experience necessary.

If this is a sign of the year to come...

...than I am SOOOO not looking forward to this year!!!
Where did THAT come from... you may ask... Oh man! Let me tell you!!

Last week DH and i celebrated 9 years of marriage... YAY! We always get away alone for the weekend, so this year was no exception. We had a weekend planned to get away, having to take the baby with us of course, whick was ok, he's suck a good baby! Anyway, all week last week we had sick kids!! DD started with a horrible cold! Stayed home from school a day and everything. Then Middle DS gets a fever, and ends up throwing up all over his bed in the night! Nice... The next day oldest DS gets sick and joins the others!! This is now Thursday and i'm ready to say forget about the weekend... but by Friday morning, things are looking better and so we decide to go.
Friday evening DH and I go and do some shopping alone... he to a auto shop, and me to the second hand store... (I'm obsessed with this!!) We meet at 8:30PM, grab donairs and garlic fingers to take back to the hotel with us and veg for the evening. We talked, ate and enjoyed some TV... went to bed at a decent time.
Next morning I get up and thought... this donair isn't sitting well... Let me just say the rest of the weekend went down the drain from there!!! DH and I BOTH ended up sick for the entire weekend!!! He slept on the couch all weekend and I in the big king sized bed!! Ugh.... I can't even say we spent the entire weekend in bed together! hehehe!!
We were SO disappointed! The baby was as good as gold thankfully... and we managed to survive... but what a let down the weekend was! Waste of $ and time... I was so disappointed not to have had any time together to just bond and have fun, ya know?

Then, we get to pick up the kids, and ALL THREE of them have also been sick for the weekend!! So I come home to a house full of sick kids... now the baby is sick also... DH took 2 days off of work and still isn't feeling right! AGH!!!! I'm ready to dig a hold and jump in!! ;)

AND yesterday was DH's birthday... poor guy! I didn't make him a cake or anything, cause he wouldn't have eaten it... His big birthday supper was chicken noodle soup! :( We will celebrate this weekend if everyone is feeling better!!

So... if this next year of marriage continues like it began... it's going to be a rough ride! LOL!!! But... in sickness and in health... together thru it all! :)

I took part ina NSD crop a week late at Ally Scraps this past week! They had some fabulous challenges! here are a couple of the LO's I created! both use almost completely MME goodies! I had a blast with them! I also created some cards which i will share tomorrow hopefully! :)

Mon Ame Memories April kit

Alright, so i'm a bit late sharing this with you... but here it is!! :)Tha Pril kit from Mon Ame Memories... The fabulous kit that Cady created was full of MME Bloom and Grow goodies! i had fun with this kit! It's not colors I would have chosen, and that's exactly what I need to get out of my comfort zone!! Thanks Cady!! I had a great time creating these! Check the rest of the Desigh teams work out here... amazing!!
So, without further adu, my 3 LO's using the Kit!! I still have a minibook in the works! :)

Scrapbook Sussies May Reveal!

Alright, it's time to reveal my creations using the Sussies May kit!! It was jam packed with TONS of goodies!! Here's a pic... We got to play with Pink Paisley and My little shoebox goodies!!






Sussies kits are SO much fun!! They are 2 sided... so it's like getting 2 kits for the price of 1!! And a little birdie told me that there are a few subscriptions sopts available... so go get one now! What are ya waiting for!?!?

RAK winner ,LO and stuff!

i want to congradulate Tessah!! You win the Earth Day RAK!!! I have your address, so be on the lookout for some scrappy mail!!

Secondly, here is the page i created for the MAM NSD crop! We each designed a class, and they were all awesome! Mine was on stamping! I'm not... let me rephrase... WAS not a big stamper. But after doing this LO and this class, I fell in love with stamps!! I think I'll be investing in more, AND using the ones i have!! I used an older Basic Grey collection for this page... a CHRISTMAS collection at that! LOL! But I LOVE this line! To check out the class, go here!


Other stuff... i think I'm evolving as a scrapper... I'm starting to find my style... for now! I think I will always enjoy doing simple LO's with lots of white space... but lately I've been LOVING the distressing! I will never be a vintage scrapper, but I really enjoy the aged look... I don't think I'll ever stick to one particular style! I love trying new things way too much! :)

Earth Day RAK

Today is Earth day... I'm ashamed to say that I only know this because a note came home with DD asking us to pack a litterless lunch in honor of it being Earth day. So of course, I did! :)
I also see that there are some blogs and websites having Earth Day celebrations! Way cool!! So, in honor of this, I decided to offer up a RAK! Here's what you have to do!!

TOOT TOOT and some new work!

Wow, it's been so long! How are ya doing?
Do you see my trouble with balance in my life... I either post too much or not enough! sheesh! LOL!!
Well, I've been scrapping away! I have lots of new stuff to share with you! But first, i have a toot!!! Yep!! I have another LO being published in Scrapbook Trends this Sept! YAY! I LOVE their mag... such high quality! And I'm thrilled to be in it for the second time!! Yippie!!

I went to a Paws on Scrapbooking crop this weekend and had a blast!!! I only got to go for the Friday part... unfortunately. Tried to get back for the Sat, but my babysitters were busy! I was so disappointed! Oh well! It was so much fun to chat and shop!! I did a ton of both AND still had time to do 2 LO's! :) Here are those 2...

This first one was done for the Mon Ame Memories Sketch crop as well and used a sketch by Lady Grace!



Then, on Saturday I decided to scrap some more!! So i did 3 other LO's!! I can only share 2 as one of the 3 is for the Scrapbook Sussies May reveal! :) But here are the others!! Both used sketches from Mon Ame!!


This one used a sketch by Tara Thyner.



This last one was a sketch by Calia Yang.
Needless to say, there were some FAB sketches at the Mon Ame Memories crop!! Drop by and check them out... even though it's too late for prizes!

New work AND some blog candy!

Hiya!! Been a quiet week on the scrappy front!! Did get some stuff done... one new LO using a Paws sketch by Emily. Very fun!! i used some of the new Fancy Pants goodies... LOVE them!!! Some hand stitching, buttons and Prima Devine on here...


Also been working on some "stuff" for the Mon Ame Memories crop that is taking place this weekend! Come on over and play! We have TONS of fun in store!!

Day 22

Hey there! How was your day? Things here are great! Nothing too exciting happening. I have been scrapping away! 2 more LO's done with the Mon Ame kit!! I'm really thrilled with my pages using this kit! Didn't know how much I'd love the Marrakeck line, but i do!
This first page is a personal reflecting page. The inspiration for it came from a song called Going thru the motions. The design inspiration came from a digi LO I seen..

The second page is of oldest DS... he is SO heavo on his feet, he sounds like a herd of elephants! LOL! So I had to make a page on it! I thought the elephants on the paper would fit perfectly! :)



Today I'm thankful that tomorrow I get to go visit my good friend Tracey T! WE always have a great time, but don't get together nearly enough!! Looking so forward to it! :)

Found out that my Momma is coming over on Sunday and is staying for just over a week! Yay!! That'll be so nice! :)

Day 21

I'm having a blast with my March kit from Mon Ame! I have 3 LO's done already, and another one in my head! I have 2 to share with you now, the other will have to wait, as it hasn't been photographed yet!

The first one is called :Who says I have a big mouth?" Journaling says, "Your Mama says you have a big mouth, that's who! The proof is in the pics, there's no denying it!"


The second is a pic of DS (oldest) from the beach last summer!



Thankful, Today I'm thankful for Music and the part that it plays in my life! It inspires me in every way... life, love, spirituality, scrapping... Music is a huge part of my life!

Day 20... Acrylic Minibook Complete!

Yay! I finally finished it! The pictures do it NO justice at all!!! I just love how it turned out!
Please excuse the chipped nailpolish in the pboto's! Sheesh... how embarassing!!! :)









Nothing exciting happening today... church... lunch... Dh now has taken the older 2 kids tapping trees for the Maple Syrup run... The younger 2 are napping... I wanna be scrapping, yet here I am! :) Ok, once this is loaded i'm going to dive into my Mon Ame Memories March kit! Yippie!!

I'm so thankful today for the sunshine! Spring is on it's way!! yippie! i said to Dh on the way in to church this morning, "It's so nice to see the mud"! LOL!!

Day 19

Scrappiness!!! Yep, been scrapping! I have 2 more LO's from the Scrapbook Sussies March kit to share!! Once again, different style for me... but so much fun to play with!!
I also finished my acrylic mini book! YAY! I'll share once it's photographed!!



Nothing exciting to share today... Dh and the 2 oldest kids were gone all afternoon and evening... I got a nap and to scrap! Yay!! For that i'm thankful today!

I also just found out I'll be the guest Designer at Paws for April! Yay!!!

Day 18

So, as you can tell, the daily blogging isn't really happening! LOL! In all honesty, if i haven't got anything scrappy to share, I don't feel it's worth blogging! Most who visit are scrappers, and hearing about my boring day is just not what keeps you coming back! :) So, no more daily blogging unless there is SOMETHING scrappy to share! :)

Nothing exciting happening here... just another ordinary day! Playing with the kids, cleaning, cooking... being a mom! you know how it is!! I've been doing a lot of deep thinking though... some real soul searching. i sence some deep LO's coming on! :)

Today I'm thankful for so many things! Most of all, i'm thankful for the forgiving and innocent nature of children. They don't care if you've had a bad day... if the house wasn't clean or if you haven't had a shower in days... they love you just the same and forgive our shortcomings before we have a chance to admit them. They are such a blessing!

Scrappiness!! I got scrappy mail today!! Yippie! I received my first DT kit from Mon Ame Memories! Yay!! Here it is... isn't it gorgeous? i haven't had a chance to play yet... but i can't wait to dive in!!


Also, i finally got 2 LO's completed with the March kit from Scrapbook Sussies! The thing I love about the Sussies kits, is that they are very often not things that i would buy. It gets me out of my comfort zone and forces me to do things that I don't usually do! It's awesome! Lara does an amazing job coordinating these kits, and they are filled with embellies!! Here are my first 2 pages... We had the BG Urban Prarie line and the American Crafts Everyday line... 4 papers from each line.




I'm also hard at work on an acrylic minibook. I'm loving it so much! I will post when it's finished... hopefully tomorrow will have it complete!

Day 17

So, we did the doodlebops concert last night... Don't get me going on that!! What a disappointment! Overpriced tickets, overpriced stuff ($10 a piece for glow stick thingies... which we bought 3, before realizing the price!!), not the real doodlebops, yeah can you believe that!!?? Very disappointing, though the kids had fun. I guess that's the main thing, right?
We got home really late... like 10:30PM! Not bad for DH and I, but DD had to start back to school after having her March Break! yeah, she was SOME tired! So, I let them sleep in and drove her to school this morning (1/2 hr drive). Therefore, my morning was shot! i got nothing done! AND, my house was a big mess from the busy weekend, so most of today was spent cleaning and doing laundry! And can you guess what I WANTED to be doing? Yep, scrapping! LOL! I even thought about doing some tonight, but I'm zonked! i think i'm coming down with something, cause I'm just aching all over.. I hope not though!!

Today I'm thankful for my Daddy!! Happy Birthday Dad!!! I was very blessed to be brought up in a good Christian home, by 2 parents who loved me!! They were not perfect, but they did the best they could! I have learned so much from them! I miss you Dad, and hope you have had a wonderful day! ((HUGS))
