Round 5 LO

Here is the LO I created for the Round 5 challenge! Create a non square LO and use 25+ of any embellie! Mine was bling...
After this round... the top 3 compete in a final challenge to see who the first place winner is!! Everyone of the 5 are amazing!! I have grown so much in this contest!! I wish them all the best of luck!! Each and every one of them deserves to win!! I'm just thrilled to be among them, and to be in the top 5!

On to Round 5!

I know... I haven't updated in a bit! Shame on me!! Here's the latest... I've made it thru to Round 5 in the So you think you can scrap at the www.ittybittyscrapshack.com!! I am having SO much fun with it!! I am so pleased with the LO I created this week... for Round 4! Here it is!The requirements were...
Use paint in a unique way
Use stitching
Use fabric (ribbon, lace etc)
use chipboard

I think this is one of my favorite LO's!! I adore that pic of DS!!

I already have the LO done for Round 5 too! It requires us to create a non square LO and to use 25 of one embelishment! I couldn't wait to do this one... so it's finished! I'll load it tomorrow!

Ever have one of those days?

Oh man!! I had one of those days the other day when I had No inspiration to scrap!! unfortunately, i had a sketch LO due pronto!! So, i did it... and now I'm So embarassed by it!! It's just SO not me... and really looks very amature! i am going to have to redo it because i just can't handle having that one up with my name on it!!

And then this morning... I decided to scrap, and in 1 1/2 hr i whip out this LO that I just LOVE!!! It's for the "So you think you can scrap" contest Round 2 at We had to use 4 photo's, at least 3 PP, rubons and ribbon in a unique way! I'm so pleased with it!!

So, I'm going to try and wip out another LO to replace the horrible one I passed in! Don't ask me where... cause i'll never tell! ;)

Feb designs for Paws

Here are my designs i did for Paws on Scrapbooking for Feb! We had a fun MME valentine collection to work with! Along with lots of little goodies and a canvas! I had so much fun! TFL!

Happy Birthday Baby!

I just can't believe that my baby boy turned one yesterday!! Where did this last year go to!! It's all a blur... Seems like just yesterday I found out I was prego!!

but here we are... we made it thru the first year! WOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! For those who don't know, this pregnancy was unexpected and a bit unplanned. I had my hands full with DS at that time and he was a rough kid! Love him dearly, but had No idea how I would handel another one! Took me 8 months of the pregnancy to finally come to grips with it! And i did! DS #2 has been nothing but an unexpected blessing! he is so precious, easygoing and has helped to grow DS #1 up so much!
So even though it was not as I would have planned it, i wouldn't have it any other way!!

So, We had church in the morning, then Dh and the boys had their naps. DD and I cleaned and cooked and decorated for the "Party"! The inlaws as well as DH's cousin came over for supper... Lasagnia, garlic cheese bread, ceaser salad and icecream cake for dessert! Camden was so tired, but did very well!! He was up much later than his ueual bed time... He totally enjoyed his supper, LOVED playing in the icecream cake and had a blast with his new chair toy that His Daddy and I got him! :) Watching him with the cake and looking at the candel was sweet! He wanted to touch it SO bad! So, we let him dig his fingers in adn have a lick! How can we not!?!

Not the most exciting of days... but kind of an emotional one for me! Not that I had a lot of time to think about it... but it's just amazing how fast time goes by... Before i know it'... it'll be time for their graduation!! EEK!

i do not at this moment, but did... i got the Bad Girls Kit... it was SO cool! Very different stuff for me, but I am having a blast with the goodies! I just did a 3 month sub... as it is costly to ship to Canada... but they are very unique kits!

6. If you could design for any company, who would it be?
Tough to choose... but I'd say Fancy Pants, MME or Basic Grey.

7. What one thing coming out in CHA are you dying to get?
I can't wait for some new Maya Road... Chatterbox is looking good too!!! TO MUCH GREAT STUFF!!!!

8. Do you submit to magazines often? Which one do you have the best luck with? The worst?
I do submit... not regularly though. I have good luck with Scrapbooking memories... the ausie mag. Worst luck with Scrapbook trends! Too big of a mag I guess!!

9. Do you have a scrap resume? Do you like it?
I have one at scrap submit... I would like to get a new one now that I have more to put on one! LOL! It's found here... My Resume

10. How often do you blog?
I'm not an everyday blogger! I like to blog when there's something new or exciting in my scrappy world! idon't blog the every day things, but more the scrappy moments! LOL!

Crop projects

I had SO much fun at the crop this past weekend!!! The food was fantastic. The friends were plentiful... met lots of new ones and hung out with some not so new ones! And the products... SO much awesome stuff!! I got 4 LO's done... all of which I'm very happy with! So, here they are... well, 2 of them anyway! The other 2 were DT stuff I can't show until the end of the week! :)

Special moments

It's funny, but after a rough day of me being cranky... We just had some special moments.
I love when bedtime is not rushed and we have time to snuggle and just hang out! Tonight was one of those nights! Even though it was getting late, and I hate to keep them up, I knew they had all napped and that since I'd been away overnight last night, the time together would do us all good!
So, DD, DS#1 and I all curled up on DS's bed and read a story. We hung out there for a bit. Then DD said "I wish we could snuggle in MY bed sometime! So, her and I went off to HER bed for a few minutes! Well, DS wouldn't let THAT opportunity go by without joining in! So, in he piles as well!! So, the three of us hang out there for a few minutes and i sang to them.
I sing a song that's called Jasmine... well, once I finished, Sammy had to have me sing a song to him!! but instead of using the word beautiful in it, he wanted it replaced with HANDSOME! LOL!!! Too cute for 2 1/2 yrs!
Then we progressed to wing over the rainbow! With them joining in of course! It was SO funny, as ds has No sence of tone yet! LOL! I can't believe we didn't wake the baby! hehehe!!
It's these special moments that make motherhood so rewarding. Even though I was tired and short on patience today, there was no hard feelings on their part! They were ready to take me in with open arms. We can learn so much from them...

I just had to share... I adore these children and don't thank God nearly enough for the blessing that they are!!

Vent

Ok, it's pretty bad that a girl can go from being totally pumped for winning a LO contest one day, to being totally bummed the next! Talk about a roller coaster! Anyway, I gotta vent!

I wanna get published again!!! I know, who doesn't? But I get so discouraged when i see the calls and toots for a call that I applied for and didn't get... again! I don't submit all that much, but when I do and don't get the call, it's discouraging! I knw there is a ton of talent out there, and that they get a ton of entries for every call! But I guess i just want to be one of those emails they open up and go WOW!! Maybe someday!
It's not like I haven't been in the mags, cause I have! I really have nothing to complain about, and yet... here I am!!
Alright.. I'm done feeling sorry for myself! Off to submit some more!! I can't give up, right!! ;)

Jan Paws LO's

Here are the 2 LO's I did for Paws on Scrapbooking for Jan! The Prima Paintable was a REAL challenge, but in the end I'm very happy with the results!! Thanks PAWS for another great kit!!

Feb Just Cre8 designs

The Jc8 kits are SO jam packed with a TON of amazing goodies! The stamps are amazing and Sue does a FAB job designing them!! Everything coordinates SO well and there is enough stuff to make many more LO's or projects!!! Gotta LOVE them!
Here are the Feb goodies I made! I'm stull trying to figure out why my LO donw using the digi frame is so fuzzy... I added the frame after the LO was loaded, so it looks out of sorts.. but I'm working on it!

Long Overdue!

I hang my head in shame... so much for my resolution to blog more!!! Tsk Tsk!! I have good reason though.... DS's crib is right next to the computer, and he's a light sleeper, so the time i have to update, he's napping! Good enough excuse? LOL! He has taken to napping in the kids room though, so now I will blog!
Hmmm... what's new? It's been a busy year so far! I'm on 4 Design teams at this moment! Busy, but oh so fun!! My 3 month Guest term with Just Cre8 is up the end of Feb... but they have a DT call out there right now, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed! I SO want this spot!!
Also, my 6 month term is up with Paws on Scrapbooking on March 31st. So things may quiet down some... but I'm really hoping not! :)
Paper Jam Studio has changed and we get a kit every 4 months... which is ok with me right now! But the more the merrier for sure!
Scrapbook Sussies is doing fabulously! Unfortunately Lara had a tragic family loss... her brother was traveling with his children from Nebraska to Colorado and was in an accident! his 14 yr old son and 4 yr old daughter were killed. My heart breaks for them!!! ((HUGS)) to you Lara!

I got some fun news yesterday! I won a LO contest at the Itty Bitty Scrap Shack!! Yippie!! Winning is always fun!! Thanks Tiffany! They also are running a "So You THink You Can Scrap" contest and I entered! It is a 6 week thing and should be lots of fun!!

I'm psyched for the weekend!! Paws is having a weekend crop and I'm going!! Yippie! I think I'm overnighting at Tracey's (Thanks girl) and scrapping lots! Can't wait!! I SO need this time to scrap! With being on all the DT's I have a TON of my own scrappy stuff not getting used, and I SO wanna use it!

So, I think that's all my news... oh nope, I have 2 more LO's requested by Scrapbooking Memories for their Button gallery! YAY!!

Reflections on 2007

Well, here it is... the dawning of a new year. It is hard to believe that another year has gone by. When I was a kid, I remember hearing the adults saying how fast time was flying by... I could never understand. Now I do. Wach year seems to go by faster than the one before it. Time is snowballing, going faster all the time.

I sit here listening to the silence in the house. justin is working on a school paper. Camden is squirming in his bed behind me... I try to type quietly so as not to wake him. Jasmine and Samuel are finally quiet in their room. As i sit and listen I am so grateful. I have been blessed beyond measure. Beyone all that I could even ask or think.

I have a husband whom i cherish. He loves me, and I am confident of that. There is never a doubt in my mind. We are closer now than we have ever been. I love the time we spend together. I love just having him around. He is wise, kind and loving. His heart is one of the first things I fell in love with. And I love him more today than I did yesterday. i can't wait to spend another year with him.

i have 3 amazing children, each one is a blessing in their own way.
Jaz, This year I have taken on the challenge of homeschooling her. It has not been easy, and yet it has. She is so smart, and learns everything so quickly. But my baby girl is growing up too quickly. She turned 5 this year. It breaks my heart to think of sending her off to school. I just don't know if I can do it. We will see what the year brings and take it as it comes. She is growing up to be such a sweet girl. She has developed some attitude however, and feels the need to be Sammy's second mother! She is a big help in many ways. She is a kind friend and has a big imagination!! She has fallen in love with Anne Shirley from Anne of Green Gables! She sure is a lot like her Mamma!

Then there is Sammy. My little Destroyer! This year has brought about so many changes in him! My having another baby before he turned 2 was hard on him. He really struggled at first, but once he got used to the idea... it was a great thing for him! It helped to grow him up! He needed that! He's still the tough one... he is an extreme boy... everything he does is extreme.. if he's sick, he's VERY sick! Happy? VERY happy! get my point? So, in going along with this... he's VERY much a Mommy's boy! He only wants Mommy for a lot of things during the day! This is something we're working on. But this boy is my pride and joy, dispite the challenges! He's so precious! He learns so much from his sister. And though they have their times, she is so good to him. And he adores her for it!

Camden, My unexpected blessing. This time last year, I was pregnant with an unplanned pregnancy. I was having a hard time accepting it, cause I had my hands so full with Sammy. But God definately knows what he's doing. Camden arrived in Feb, just after a horrible snowstorm. He was perfect. He is such a sweet and precious boy! Amazing really. I would not change anything... I didn't think I was ready for baby #3, but I did it. Here we are with his first birthday just around the corner... and i'm here. Sane as i could be... and happy. Thank you Lord for this amazing little boy!

I, personaly have been challenged in the last year. It has not all been easy, as I have gotten behind in the housework, things have just gotten out of hand. I have had great loss of patience... having 3 kids 5 and under is a real challenge! But I have grown thru this. I have come to understand why other people do the things they do, and why things are the way they are sometimes. I am somewhat disappointed in myself in this past year in some ways. I feel i have failed in my spiritual life. This controls every aspect of my life... and though i look back on the year with many fond memories, I do have regrets. And in examining the year, I have some up with the following thoughts.

I want to be more patient. I am the only Mommy that my children have. I want to be the best that i can be. I want them to always be happy and feel loved, cherished and adored. I feel that they are.

I want to find balance in my life. I am an extremist. I am all or nothing. If I'm scrapping... I'm scrapping! I have a hard time juggeling that with motherhood and housewife. I do it... but it's not always easy. i need to strive to find a happy balence in all i do.

I want to be healthier. I need to loose about 25-30 lbs. I want to do it for my health, for my self confidence and for my husband. Not to mention, I'm Maid of Honor in my sister's wedding in Sept! LOL!

I want to be more organized. My house desperately needs organizing! I want to. I can do it. I know how. But I just don't have enough time. I will take things one step at a time and get things in order.

I want to make better use of my time. I will get up by 7 am and get a good start on my day. If i need a rest, I can do so. But mornings must be my time to get things done.

I want to spend more quality time with my children. They are growing up so fast. I need to take time every day to spend with them, teaching them, loving them and giving them my undivided attention. This is hard for me. i have a million things i want to and need to do. Even 10 minutes each. This is a must.

I am a mother, a wife, an artist and a teacher. I'm a lover, a friend, a christian and a daughter. I work, play, teach, and care for those around me. My prayer is that i be the best that i can be, in all that I do. I look ahead to 2008 with hope, expectation and anticipation! My prayer for the coming year is this...
Keep my family safe and healthy.
Keep us together and close.
Be with us, protect us and love us.
Guide us in your will.

I got an email today from Daisy D.... I'd applied for their 2008 design team... and I've made it to the finalist round!!! They reqested 3 of my favorite LO's to be emailed... it was SO hard to choose!! I already emailed them... but which ones posted on my blog are your favorites?

A lot of people are making the finalist round i believe... but it's still exciting! :) Wish me luck!!

More new projects! :)

I attended a Santa's Workshop crop with Paws on Scrapbooking last saturday! It was an awesome day! I got 2 LO's done... would have done more but i spent the morning trying to find the right place "DUH" and then gave up to do some Christmas Shopping! LOL! I finally made it before noon though! Here are 2 of the LO's I did there, plus one i dod at home! Also here's my Basic Grey Minibook I did for Paws Nov kit! :)

I was just visiting the blog of a friend of mine... TraceyT and she had posted a converstation with her 2 yr old. It reminded me of this chat with my 2 1/2 hr old son...
My DD and I had been watching Anne Of Green Gables... she is now a HUGE fan!!

DD says: Mommy, Gilbert Blyth is so beautiful!
Momy: boys aren't beautiful, they are called handsome!
DS: Like me Mommy? I'm handsome?
Mommy: Yes Sammy, like you, you are handsome!!
DS: Thank you Mommy!

I just wanna squeeze him!! LOL!

Contest Toot!

Man! I've been on a roll lately!! And i'm lovin' it!!! i just got an email from KT Crafts. I had sent in a LO for their Piggie Tails contest... I just found out I WON!! YAY! I win a $20 Gift Certificate for their store! Now I'm off to see what i'm going to get!!

I also got more news today.. Kathy Marie from Paper Jam Studio asked if we (the present DT) would be interestedin extending our DT term for another 6 months! Heck yeah!! :)

It's been a wonderful day! :)I even got to do some work on my minibook for PAWS that I needed to finish up! Hope to post tomorrow!

Paws on Nov Kit Reveal

Here are the creations i made using the Nov Kit from Paws on Scrapbooking. It consisted of Fancy Pants paper... GORGEOUS!! Some embellies and a Basic Grey Luggage Tag book, which I still have to finish! Enjoy!

Oh, the LO!

Here's the LO that i did for this final challenge at Just Cre8! We had to cre8 a 2 pg LO with the theme of a timeline of our life! It was tough.. but here it is!!

Great News!!

I won!!! WOHOOOOOOO!!! Well, I tied for first.. but I still won the 3 month Design Team position at Just Cre8!!!!! I'm so thrilled!!!! It's an awesome site, and Sue's kits are to die for!!! Now I get the Jan, Feb and March ones!!! Yehaw!!! Plus there was an Imaginese prize pkg being donated by Scrapbook and Cards today... not sure what the deal is with that yet! Even if they split it, that's ok! It's still free goodies! hehehe!!

Technique Tip

Have you ever used corrogated cardboard on a LO? This is my new addiction! It looks so cool! If you like dimention and texture, then you have to try this!
Take a piece of cardboard from a box or whatever... tear off the top layer. Using a tool of your choice,(scissors, tweezers etc) tear the layers between the bumps. Then clean it off and add some paint for texture! Layer under a photo and bang, you have a photo mat that is full of dimention!

Paper Jam Studio Designs

I finally got my work done for Paper Jam Studios! i have been dying to dive into the kit and just got to finish with it this weekend! It was AWESOME! I love the piggie tales lines... and I got to work with the Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater line! Kathie Marie had everything from that line in the kit, along with some 7 Gypsies ATC cards and a Junkitz ring to make an altered project. I had a blast! Here's what i came up with! Hope you enjoy!


And here is the minibook I made... Each page has one of the Barn Doors on it and behind the doors is journaling as to each of my 5 blessings of 2007... My family! I'm having so much fun with the minibooks lately! :)









And last but not least, here is the LO I did for Just Cre8... Round 4 in the Idol contest. The challenge was to use a min of 5 photo's on a LO... 2 of which must have 2 or more people in them! EEK! This was tough for me... where I like to do 1 phot' LO's! :) Great challenge though, and I'm reasonably pleased! it got me thru to
Round 4 anyway!
