A few little projects to share

Hello and HAPPY EASTER to you!!! I hope that you have a joyous weekend filled with loved ones and blessings! This weekend is a time for me to reflect on what my Savior has done for me and how thankful I am for my salvation! Today and every day!

Since returning from the Spellbinders Design team retreat, i have not been able to work on one single project without using my Spellbinder's Grand Calibur die cutting machine and the Die Templates! They are SOOOOO versatile and can do SO many things!!!! I am in LOVE! :) Today I have a couple of projects to share with you.

This first project is a card I made for Magistical Memories. That beautiful swirl on the front of the card is a chipboard piece called "heart border" and it is so elegantly beautiful! I covered it in Clear Snaps Color Box Cat Eye ink and Ranger distress powder. I then melted the powder with my heat gun, which gave it this beautifully distressed look! It went so beautifully with the KaiserCraft paper!
Supplies: Kaiser Craft Patterned paper, Spellbinders die templates, Recollections pearls, Ranger distress powder and ink, My Stamp Box Stamp, Clear Snap Color Box ink, Magistical Memories chipboard, Helmar Adhesives

Can I tell you a secret?... These last few weeks I have found myself LOVING making cards! I can't believe I just wrote that... but it's true! Using the Spellbinders Die Templates makes it SO much fun!! :) Now remember... don't tell!! ;)

The second project I want to share is a cute little Easter set that I made for Helmar... again, using my Spellbinders Die Templates! These were SOOO easy to make! And using the Helmar Liquid Scrap dots made those flowers stick on SO good!! We learned a similar version of these at the Spellbinders retreat and I just had to adapt them and make some Easter themed ones! :)
Supplies: Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots, Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive runner, Helmar Zap Dots, Fancy Pants Patterned Paper, Clearsnap Ink, Recollections blooms and pearls, Spellbinders die templates

Also I have some news... as of the end of this month my term is finished with Helmar and I will not be continuing on as a part of the Design Team. I have LOVED being a part of it and will continue to use Helmar on my projects! I look forward to seeing what the new team has in store!

I also have some fun news!! I have been asked to design some projects for the fabulous Iphone app "Sketches2Scrapbook" and "Sketches4Cards"! I will be designing with Anam's sketches for both cards and layouts! This will be lots of fun!! And seeing that I do not have an iphone, I will have some free app codes to give away once my projects are in!! Wohoo! So keep dropping by and I'll have those to give away someday... though I'm not sure when yet! :)
So... lots of changes... change is good! Looking forward to lots of changes coming up!
So until next time... Happy Scrapping!!

Hello All! I have a layout to share with you... but first, some FUN news!! I mentioned in my last post that i was a finalist for the My Scrapbook Nook DT... well, I did not make the DT, but I was asked to be a guest designer! I am more than thrilled!! So I'll have more info on that for you when i have it! :) Now...
Every month at Magistical Memories we have a challenge where the DT chooses a winner to be our Guest Designer! In order to play along, you must complete a layout based on this sketch... created by yours truly! :) For more details on playing along, please drop by the Magistical Memories blog.
And here is the project that I created using this sketch along with the Magistical Memories Chipboard film strip! I LOVE this piece of chipboard! I need to get about 500 more of them!! ;)
BE MINE

I have so many little details to show you on here... so bare with me for all the detailed shots...
The chipboard... I inked it with black ink, leaving it slightly distressed looking. Isn't it a DIVINE chippie!!??
I had a ton of fun with my sewing machine on this one!!! Check out the pleating on the paper and the stitching thru the title... a new addiction I think... :)
This pleated heart is how my page began... I started with that and the rest came together from there. I am actually working on a tutorial for this technique to share with you so stay tuned later in the week... :)
I have to admit... I think this has now become one of my all time favorite pages... It just came together so well and I love it to bits!... Kinda like the little guy in the pics! ;)

I have a quick simple page to share with you today using some Magistical Memories chippies. MM has partnered up with Paper Trunk... so I have had the chance to work with some of the Rockabilly collection! It's full of fun colors and designs! Here's what I came up with...

See that cute little banner? It's a stamp from Basic Grey! TOO CUTE!
Anyway... gotta run and enjoy this beautiful day! Hope you have a great one!!

My Little Word

I realize that it is no longer the beginning of the new year... but since we are still in the first month, I think it's still a great time to share with you my word choice for the year.
**CONTENT**
–adjective
satisfied with what one is or has; not wanting more or anything else.

In 2011 I aim to be more content... to be satisfied with what I have... to be thankful for what I have and focus on those things rather than on what i do not or can not have.

So often I get caught up in the negative... what I do not have, what I can not do rather than realize what I DO have... what I CAN do. In this coming year, I want to change that. I want to be overwhelmed by what I have! I want to realize how greatly God has blessed me and how much love he has surrounded me with. I am blessed with an amazing Husband, 5 healthy, beautiful and incredible children, a fabulous home, a "hobby" that I am passionate about and am able to pursue, I am healthy, I have a God who loves me... I am blessed beyond measure. I am content...

I realize that the journey to contentment is just that... a journey. It will not be achieved in one day or even one year. But being aware is the first step...In order to document this journey, I created a little journal to record my thoughts and experiences thru this coming year.

This little album is from Jenni Bowlin. It is adorable! It is 4x4 in size and the inside pages are all lined papers! Exactly what I want for a journal! So, I decorated the outside and I was good to go! For this project I used Helmar's Acid Free Glue to adhere the paper to the chipboard album and to each other . I also used 450 quickdry to adhere the ribbon. I used the Helmar Fray Stoppa to help the ribbon from fraying. I wanted this journal to have a closure as well, so i used a brad and the ribbon for that. I added some Fray Stoppa to the hole in the ribbon as well to keep it from stretching any further.
I used a chipboard heart from Magistical Memories as a little dangle element on the ring of the album along with the tulle.Supplies: (Jenni Bowlin) Journal album and pin, (Pink Paislee) Papers, (Cosmo Cricket) Alpha's, (Making Memories) Alpha's, Journaling paper, (Recollections) Brad, (Magistical Memories) Chipboard heart, (Ranger) Ink, (Craft supply) Tulle, (Helmar) Acid Free Glue, 450 Quickdry, Fray Stoppa

Thanks so much for stopping by! I have some cards to share with you in the next couple of days! Yes... you read that right... CARDS! :)
I would love to hear your WORD for the year... or your resolution! :) Hmmm... I think this just might call for a RAK (Scrapbooking goodie bag! :) )! Share with me your word or a resolution and I'll enter you in a draw for a RAK of goodies from me!! You must be a follower of my blog to play along... so make sure you are FOLLOWING me!! I will do the draw on Jan 28th! :)

Until Next time...
Happy Scrapping!

Thank you to Simply Renee

Today my last post went live on the Simply Renee Clip-It-Up blog! I have so completely enjoyed my time on this fabulous team! Thanks so much to Renee and the team for their generosity and for giving me this fabulous opportunity! I am looking forward to seeing the talent brought on with the next design team!
In my blog post, I have another video... This one is of my clip it up and how I stire it and use it. It's not great quality... I have a hard time watching my own video's because I'm so critical of myself... and i hate hearing my own voice! LOL! But if you can stand to hear it, feel free to check it out on the Simply Renee blog!
I would like to share with you the project I created for the blog post. I also shared it on the Magistical Memories blog, since it uses the cute little chipboard clouds designed by Amy Teets!
REFLECTIONS from 2010
Supplies: Patterned paper (October Afternoon, Pink Paislee) Alpha (October Afternoon, Cosmo Cricket, Pink Paislee) Felt Embellies (Sassafras Lass) Tag (Tim Holtz) Journaling Spots and mini shaped paper (Jenni Bowlin) Journaling card (My Minds Eye)chipboard clouds (Magistical Memories) Flower (Maya Road) Acrylic star, chipboard arrows (Heidi Swapp) Butterfly sticker (Glitz) Border Punch (Martha Stewart) Template (Crafters Workshop) Premium Craft Glue, Quickfix Adhesive runner (Helmar)

I was wanting to do a page that kind of wrapped up our year... and once I got going thru my photo's on the computer, I decided to choose one thing from each month to document on here. It could not be a birthday... so here is a photo from each month. The journaling is around the outside done by hand... GASP! I know, no journaling strips! LOL!
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! I want you to know how much I appreciate each of you and how encouraging your comments are! Keep it up and I'll try and improve my tips, techniques and perhaps throw in a video or 2 along the way...
Until next time...
Happy Scrapping!

I Love Chipboard!

Hello Peeps! :)
It is a rainy Tuesday morning... I'm feeling kinda under the weather so I decided to stay put today. Now here I am sharing with you on my blog instead of dragging 3 kids out in the rain... sounds good to me! :)
I have a new page to share with you that I did for Magistical Memories! I used one of my all time FAVORITE chipboard pieces from them. I also used one of the NEW RELEASES by Amy Teets for MM. Here's what I created...I love the fence piece! This is the first time I used it on a layout, but I adore it! To create the look that I achieved, I painted the fence with brown paint. Then I went over it in white with a dry brush. I love how the dark shows thru and looks like a real white-wash! I have the fence raised up using Helmar's 1/4 inch square black zapdots. These are the perfect height and were so easy to use!
The new release is the clouds! They are so cute! To get the swirly look on them I used white and baby blue liquid pearls. I started with the white and covered the entire cloud in a swirly motion. Then after letting it sit for a minute, I repeated this process with the blue. I really liked the effect! What do you think? I adhered the clouds using Helmar's Premium Craft Glue and one using the Zap Dots again for a little bit of dimension.
TECHNIQUE
To create the distressed frame look in this page, here is what i did...
*Using Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive runner I added the photo to where I wanted it on the page.
*Using a craft knife I cut out the photo and the backround paper aprox 1/4 inch larger than the photo all around.
*After removing this piece from the page, I added the lighter green paper on the BACK of the page, being careful not to put the adhesive too close to the inner edges.
*Then I distressed and curled the inner edges.
*Distressed the edges of the paper around the photo.
*Then I adhered the photo back onto the page, centering it in the hole!
*To help round it out, I added a circle of pearls using the liquid pearls and a Crafters Workshop circle template. But you know me... almost no page is complete without a circle of some sort! :)
Here is a closeup of my journaling for this page. This is #4... he was the most AMAZING little baby! So happy and content! In this photo, he had come along on a getaway weekend with Justin and i for our anniversary! He was SO good! It's a shame him and I both ended up sick with the flu for the weekend! LOL! But he was SOOO good! I'm so thankful for him!
suppiles: Prima PP, felt devine, flowers, Ranger liquid pearls, Basic Grey alpha'sand pearls, Magistical Memories chipboard, Recollections flowers, Helmar Premium Craft glue, Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive runner, Helmar Zap dots, wire twine from Dollarama

Whew... That was a LONG post! Thank you for sticking with me! I hope that I have inspired you or given you some ideas!!
Remember... Magistical Memories makes FABULOUS chipboard! Check it out! And for all your adhesive needs, it's gotta be Helmar!
Thanks for stopping by! And until next time...
Happy Scrappin'!

Quickie!

Hello All!! I hope you are staying dry! That SURE is hard to do around here this week! MAN! Talk about a lot of rain!!! Just glad it's not snow or else we'd be almost buried! :)
I just wanted to drop in for a minute and share a quick page with you! It is one that I did for the Magistical Memories October sketch challenge! I realize that it's now Nov... but it's better late then never, right?
CHERISH
I kept the design in this page very simple. I wanted the emphasis to be on the photo's. And
yet I still feel the need for dimension! So, I added a naked chipboard element from Magistical Memories at the top of the photo's. Love that I could use it naked... perfect coloring and so simple! So rather then spend time fancying up my chipboard, I spent my time on a fancy ruffle to go around my page!! I used a lace boarder punch to cut out strips of paper. I cut them aprox 1x12. Then I folded them into pleats. Using the FABULOUS Helmar 450 quickdry, I curved it around the edge of my circle! Believe it or not, the Helmar kept it in place! Whoot! But feeling that the page needed a bit more oomph, I added stitching around the perimeter of the circle! Very simple page... but perfect for the elegant photo's!
supplies: Scribble Scrabble patterned paper, Magistical Memories chipboard, Momenta puffy word sticker and epoxy circle, Martha stewart punches, ZVA bling, Ranger distress inks, Helmar 450 quick dry, Helmar Premium Craft glue

These pics are of my sister and her Fiancee at the time... now Hubby! :) She is simply beautiful and i adore these photo's!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I have several new projects to show you in the near future... so stay tuned! :) I also have some FUN and EXCITING news to share soon! :)
Until Next time... Happy Scrapping!

Baby Baby!

Hello My friends! It's been too long!! We celebrated Thanksgiving this past weekend here in Canada, so HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all of my Canadian readers!!
Today I have a mini album to share with you using the LAYERED ANTIQUE MINI ALBUM from Magistical Memories!
I LOVE that it is layered... I LOVE that there are only 3 pages... I LOVE the shape!!! I LOVE how it turned out! I LOVE this baby...I just LOVE this mini!!

BABY Layered Antique Book

This album is of my now 5 month old baby boy. He is #5 for me... and my last baby! (At least it should be! ) I wanted to create an album to show a few of my favorite newborn shots of him... and this worked perfectly!
To create the album, I sprayed each chipboard page with Helmar's V2 Velum Adhesive! It made this project SO easy and it has fantastic hold! Then I layed the paper over it, pressed it down, then cut it out using a craft knife! I then sanded the edges and inked them! Easy Peasy! And with only 3 pages, it didn't take me forever! Just one day! That's My Kind of mini!!
Supplies:
MME Patterned paper, Maya Road sheer birdies, Girls Paperie flower, ZVA crystle swirl, American Crafts Brads, Pink Paislee rubon, Basic Grey pearls, Jolies (crochet flower), Jillibean soup corrogated alpha, Martha Stewart border punches, Helmar V2 Vellum Adhesive, Helmar Premium craft glue, Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive runner, Magistical Memories Layered Antique book

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

Scribble Scrabble designs

Hello there! Thanks for stopping by!! I have 3 projects to share with you today!!!

I believe I mentioned in a previous post that I had the awesome opportunity to be guest designing for Scribble Scrabble for Sept! Let me just say how much I fell in LOVE with these papers!!!! The designs and patterns are perfect for my style... let me share my projects with you!!

#1. Cool Dude
For this page I used the Bric-A-Brac collection. I just loved how these colors and patterns went together!! I added some Magistical Memories chipboard for my title piece and a little chippie potty man as well! :)
#2. Our Day
For my second layout, I used the Nana's Trunk collection! Now this paper looks nothing like nana's trunk to me! I ADORE this collection! The colors are so vivid and fun!!
I loved all the fussy cutting possibilities here! They fit perfectly with my simple page design and helped me to finish this page just right!! I also dug out my sewing machine... glad i did!! :)This page is about our yearly shopping trip to buy school stuff... book bags, clothes, lunch boxes... all those goodies! This was DS's first year of school, so it made it an extra special day!

#3. Just a Simple Girl
This last page was created using the Simply Stylish collection. OMW I loved the colors on here! I'm a classic black white and red kinda gal! This collection was created for me!! It should be called Tina's collection! LOL!!!Again, lots of fussy cutting opportunities on here! It took some time, but i'm so glad i did it... I'm thrilled with how it turned out! I used Helmar's liquid scrap dots under my fussy cutting. It is awesome for adding just the tiniest bit of dimension!! Love it!

And here is the first page that I created using Scribble Scrabble...

Whew... that was a big post! :) Thanks so much for sticking around and checking out my work!! I am so pleased you took the time! don't forget to say HI so I know you were here! :) Then I can stop by your blog for some lovin' too! :)

Still have more goodies that I havent' shared yet, can you believe it?? :)

Scribble Scrabble meets Magistical Memories!

I am so excited!! I am Guest designer for Scribble Scrabble for the month of September! Cynthia was SO generous in what she sent me!! She sent me 5 lines to work with!!!! And WOW!! Every one of them have my name ALL OVER THEM! Well, not literally... LOL! But I fell in LOVE with these papers! I have never had the opportunity to work with Scribble Scrabble papers, as they have never been sold in my area. Boy was I missing out! They are FANTASTIC! Great quality, double sided and gorgeous colors! I'm in patterned paper heaven!! Here is the first layout I did using the Haley's Collection.
I Adore Your Curls
I LOVE the texture of this page!! Helmar Adhesives made this page SO full of depth! The Helmar liquid Scrap Dots were used on the photo, chipboard and my pleated paper! LOVE this stuff!!
I used a nesting chipboard heart from Magistical Memories on this page as well. No page is complete without some chipboard! I covered it with the patterned paper and sanded and inked the edges for the perfect mat for my photo's!
I had so much fun embellishing this page.. simple but so effective!
I loved this page so much, I created a sketch based on it for the September Sketch for Magistical Memories! Check out the details here...
Thanks so much for stopping by! I so appreciate your love... :) Tune again soon, as I have more stuff in the works! :)
Until then...
Happy Scrapping!

Magistical Memories August Sketch

Hello my friends! I am so happy that you have dropped by! I want you to know how much I appreciate you coming by and leaving your sweet comments! So often many of you have just made my day! Thank you!! ((HUGS))

I have a new project to show you today using Magistical Memories chipboard and Helmar Adhesives! It is based on my sketch for Magistical Memories August sketch challenge! This page has SO many of my favorite products and techniques!!! So it's appropriate that it's an all about me page! :)
I AM...
I used a combination of Pink Paislee and October Afternoon papers on here. Both very different paper lines, but they worked so well on this page I think!! I love all of the bright colors! I had fun pulling out the red in them by using the red alpha's (Websters Pages) and the red roses (Websters pages as well)
I used a fun bracket frame from Magistical Memories on here. I sprayed the plain chipboard frame with Helmar's V2 Vellum Adhesive. I let it sit for about 5 minutes and then sprinkled with PK Glitz glitter. This adhesive holds SOOOO well! It is invisible so there is no trace of it, and it holds glitter incredibly! I then sprayed it with hairspray to hold the glitter in place... a little trick I picked up somewhere! :)
Another thing I am in love with lately is these mini roses!!! SWOON! They are by Recollections... found at Michaels they are an exact replica of Prima flowers, only a fair bit cheaper if you get them on sale!! I think I bought about 8 packages here a couple of weeks ago! Almost every color they had... and I blame/thank Tracey for showing me them!! LOL!
They are held on with the Helmar 450 Quick Dry, as is the chipboard and tulle roses. This stuff dries SO fast, and is invisible. It's better than a glue gun by far!!
Isn't that locket adorable!!?? I found it a Michaels some time ago and paid nearly nothing for a 2 pack! This is the first I've used them, but the other one will be found on another page very soon! It opens up so you can put paper or a photo inside! I put in the blue paper and then added the # stickers to the outside!
Another new addiction is this border punch! I can't do a page without some kind of border punch, and this is my newest purchase! i have adored it in the work of others I've seen, so when I had the chance to purchase it, I jumped at the chance!! :)

Thank you for stopping by!
Happy Scrapping!

Lots of creating... and some more fun news!!

Hello all!! July 3rd was my last post! Man... where has July gone!!??!!?? It has FLOWN by!!!

First of all, i want to share with you that I have been invited to be a Guest Designer for Scribble Scrabble for Sept!! YAHOO! I'm so excited! They have some beautiful lines coming out!! YAY!!!

Also have lots of recent work to show you! I'll start with one that I created for Magistical Memories using the sketch I created for the July challenge!
UNSURE
I used the beautiful swirl chipboard that you see as well as some hearts and a circle. Glimmer mist and Making Memories paints created the colors. I adore these October Afternoon papers!
Love machine stitching and buttons....
Here you can read the journaling... It was his Kindergarten orientation day. He really was excited but this look on his face shows me that there were feelings inside that he was just not sharing... that's the thing about boys eh?.... so many feelings they just won't share...
The entire page was created using Helmar Premium Craft glue except for the chipboard... I used the 450 Quick dry from Helmar for that! FAB-U-LOUS!!
I have more to show you... but my time is up!! kids are at the table eating supper... LOL!!!
Hope you're having a FAB summer!!!
I'll be back soon with the winner of my RAK as well!!!

Until Next Time... Happy Scrapping!!

Camera Shy **Magistical Memories

I am a little bit behind this month with my sketch creation for June for Magistical Memories... but it's ok, because I'm pleased with the LO that I created!! :) The June sketch was created by Amy Teets and it was an awesome one!
It is such a versatile sketch and there are SO many possibilities!!! Here is what I created with it.

Camera Shy

I had fun playing with this beautiful Magistical Memories Crazy Daisy border chipboard! I sprayed it with 2 colors of Tattered angels glimmer mist and one shimmers... it gave it a really cool look! I just love the way it shimmers!! I added pearls to the centers to give it a finished look.
No LO is complete without some fussy cutting and stickles... Oh, and some Liquid Pearls!!
This entire LO was done using the Helmar Premium Craft Glue! If you're like me, you always thing that liquid glue will ripple your pages... Well, I don't think that way any more!! This glue is liquid but there are not wet marks, no ripples and best of all... your stuff doesn't move! It's fabulous! The only thing i didn't use it on with this page was the journaling strips... I just like the Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive runner for this...
It's a little late for you to enter the June Sketch contest at Magistial Memories... but it's PERFECT timing to enter the July sketch challenge!! Here is the sketch...
Drop by Magistical Memories forum to see the details of the challenge!!

Don't forget about the RAK I will be drawing for!!! Just become a follower and leave a comment here...!

So... until next time... Happy Scrapping!!!
